Palace of Parliament

As the world second-largest building, by surface area, after the Pentagon, the Palace of Parliament is one of Romania's most significant tourists attractions, despite popular disdain. The Palace is also, perhaps, the most controversial building in the country. It was communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu's ambitious urban development plan, and represents one of the most extravagant and expensive building projects ever.

Village Museum

The Village Muzeum is among Bucharest's top five museums. Dating since 1936, it is one of the first outdoor etnographic museums in the country and in the world. It is located in Herastrau Park and comprises 272 authentic peasant farms and houses from all over Romania.
Cismigiu Park

The park was officially inaugurated in 1854 and it is the city's oldest public garden. Situated in the center of the city, the park occupies an area of approximately 40 acres (16 hectares). It is a definitely must, when visiting Bucharest (especially if you're with your sweetheart).
The Old Court Church

Built from 1558 to 1591, The Old Court Church is the oldest church in Bucharest. It was started during the reign of Mircea Ciobanul in the Wallachian architectural style and was the coronation place of Wallachian princes between the 16th and 19th century.
Union Square

It is one of the city's largest squares. It was built in the Communist era, first starting as the Boulevard of the Victory of Socialism, being renamed fter the Romanian Revolution of 1989. On the east side of teh square, Unirea Shopping Centre can be found.
The Triumphal Arch
At the intersection of Ctin Prezan Boulevard and Kiseleff Highway
The Triumphal Arch was built as a celebration for the Great Union, after the victory of the Romanian armies in the World War I. Due to deterioration, in time, the original wooden arch was replaced by a stone arch somewhere between 1935 and 1936.
